Long Day Care Services
Our School offers a Childrens Centre for children between birth and five years. Our centre is a community based and not for profit service where the goal is high quality learning and child care programs to suit the diverse needs of our community.
Our service provides experienced and professional educators who work together to build effective learning environments for all children including children with special rights to support their learning and wellbeing.
We operate from 7.45 am - 6 pm Monday to Friday : 50 weeks per year, catering for children 0 - 5 years.
We have two main age groups: 0 - 3 and 3 - 5 years.
The 0 - 3 age group is offered in the Maxwell Street Building. This has its own fenced outdoor play space and coded entry from Maxwell Street.
Two groups of children and based in the Maxwell Street building. Each group of children is supported by a team of Diploma and Certificate III educators who work together to provide primary care and connected attachments. The assistant director is the educational leader for this age group.
The 0 - 3 age group is offered in the Sturt Street building. The outdoor area for this age group is shared with the school.
The 3 - 5 educators include the Pre-School Director, a full time teacher and part time teacher as well as Diploma and Certificate III trained educators.
Children accessing long day care will be in a primary care group with an educator. The Reception class is adjacent the 3 - 5 Kindy room - and this provides opportunities for visits and collaboration.
We offer a fully integrated pre-school program, with two qualified Early Childhood teachers where children's child care and education needs are provided in a seamless manner. We offer 15 hours of pre-school for children in their eligible year - 12 months prior to school entry.
We offer the 15 hour entitlement of pre-school over 2 days per week during school terms.
Monday - Thursday 8.15 - 3.45
Children in their eligible year are entitled to 15 hours of pre-school per week for one year. Children accessing this program will be in a primary care group with one of the teachers.
Our Pre-school program is integrated with our long day care program for 3 - 5 year olds.
This means that children have continuity of learning and care within the same environment. Child care options are available for pre-school families who require this service.
