ARRIVING AND LEAVING SCHOOL
The school’s duty of care to students begins at 8.40 am unless they are booked into Before School Care. Students should not arrive unnaccompanied at school before 8.40am or remain after 3.30pm unless enrolled in the Out of School Hours Care Program.
Student safety is our highest priority.
Students may enter the school playgrounds or library from 8.30am but must remain in the care of an adult.
Families utilising OSHC may access the school through the O’Brien St entrance. This entrance is locked between 8.50am and 3.15pm.

1st lunch /2nd lunch
Two hours after school starts we have a major eating break (1st Lunch) from 10.50 – 11.00am, followed by a play break from 11.00 to 11.30am. 2nd lunch follows later at 1.15pm during which there is an eating and play break for twenty-five minutes until 1.40pm. This new configuration provides many nutritional benefits for children resulting in sustained periods of concentration. The model also supports the school’s Sun Smart commitment. Having longer playtime earlier in the day reduces the time spent outside in the hottest and most dangerous UV times.

The school does not operate its own canteen but lunches may be ordered at school. For Price list – please refer to the Canteen section in the Parent drop down menu from the home page.   Children may order their lunches first thing in the morning and place money in paper bags provided in the Front Office.  The order is collected from Sturt Street Community School at 9.30 sharp.  Food will be delivered to the school for distribution to classes at 10.50am.

When bringing packed lunch from home, please see that lunch boxes and drink containers are labelled with your child/children’s name.
We are a health promoting school where we encourage healthy foods.  We do not permit chips, soft drinks or lollies.
Please refer to the Nuts and Allergens Policy in the Parent drop down menu from the Home page.  Please read this carefully to help us provide a safe environment for all our children and staff.

For safety reasons glass containers ARE NOT PERMITTED at school.
